南ウェールズ出身のギタリスト。本名Graham Hedley Williams。
1960年代末、カーディフを拠点にシンガーのGareth MortimerらとStrawberry Dustで活動。Eyes Of BlueのドラマーJohn Weathersが同グループのヘヴィな音を気に入り、1970年にアルバム制作のチャンスを得るが、グループ名がAncient Greaseとされ、さらにEyes Of Blue勢による過剰なオーバーダブが施されていたことなどから、Williamsらメンバーが落胆したとの逸話が残っている。
この後、親交を深めたWeathersとは71年初頭に結成されたGlenn Cornickの新グループWild Turkeyにともに参加するが、すぐに離脱。同年半ばにはGraham Bond with Magickでもともに演奏している。
後にMortimerと再会し、彼が在籍していたGood Habitを母体として1974年にRacing Carsを結成。76年のシングル「They Shoot Horses Don’t They ?」が英国チャートの14位まで上昇するヒットを記録し人気バンドとなった。78年にはMortimerと分かれ、同グループを母体にThe Cadillacsを結成。シングルをリリースしたほか、Meic Stevensのバックを務めた。2000年にはMortimerとRacing Carsを再結成した。
