活動期間1964-1966
イングランド北東部ダラム出身のビート・グループ。後にセッションドラマーとして活躍し、長くYesで活動する名ドラマーAlan Whiteの最初のプロフェッショナル・バンド。
当初はThe Downbeatsを名乗り活動。1965年にThe Bluechipsに改名してPyeからモッズ好みのＲ＆Ｂサウンドの3枚のシングルをリリースした。Whiteはこの後、The Gamblersを経てThe Animalsを脱退したAlan PriceのグループThe Alan Price Setに加入。
